Saksham Magic, an Australian hyper-influencer with 4.8 million of YouTube subscribers and fans across all compass points is cooking up an exciting surprise for fans of all things spooky: a Halloween special featuring magic, a healthy dose of macabre, and a ghastly adventure.
Enter: “Unknown Filter” – a YouTube webs-series endorsed by Screen Australia and YouTube featuring none other than the globally acclaimed social media influencer and magician Saksham Magic.
Directed by award-winning film director Enzo Tedeschi, featuring cinematography by Shing Fung Cheung, and produced by Saksham Studios, the “Unknown Filter” is a story set in a ghost fantasy setting revolving around a university student that went viral on a YouTube live stream.
While browsing through the comments of the stream, an “unknown” fan proposes to Saksham that he should use a new filter. Within moments of tapping the button on his smartphone, a mask appears on the student’s face, only to float beside him before fixating its gaze on Saksham.
Given that most of his fans were already familiar with the student’s magic tricks, they assume it is all a part of the show, or at the very least a glitch. After discovering that the filter placed the mask on an incorporeal entity, the story of “Unknown Filter” begins.
In real life, Saksham earned global renown as a world-class magician, performing various exquisite stunts for his audiences across social media platforms. What makes this YouTube series special and unique is the fact that Saksham did not have to pretend that he was a magician: he leveraged his skills and talents and had no intention of relying on special effects to make the story more appealing.
“I wanted an acting opportunity and hence I decided to produce my own Web-series,” said Saksham. Even though Saksham personally produced, filmed, and authored all of his magic stunts so far, he imparted that “Unknown Filter” was a significantly different experience, stating that “It is a real challenge to produce and act in film.”
The “Unknown Filter” series showcases an array of Saksham’s magic tricks, which envelop the spooky ghost-chase atmosphere in mystique. Saksham’s abundant experience in front of the camera was an invaluable asset, but he imparted that filming TikTok and Instagram stunts were nothing like filming a full-fledged web-series.
“Unknown Filter is my most ambitious project,” said Saksham. He collaborated with Screen Australia and YouTube to ensure his viewers will be at the edges of their seats throughout the series, as “Unknown Filter” possesses all attributes of top-class production: exemplary level cast, outstanding filming gear, and a talented character carrying the movie forward.
“Unknown Filter” is scheduled for launch on the 3rd of October; from then, Saksham will release a new episode weekly.
